The JOSECO Grande Signature Sofa | 2026 began with a photograph, an idea and the determination to create something extraordinary. A reference image provided the starting point. My own imagination shaped the direction, and a skilled carpenter translated that vision into solid wood.

The year 2026 marks when this design was first created. It records a chapter in JOSECO's journey of bespoke craftsmanship, joining the distinctive furniture we have created over the years.

As a manufacturer, one of my greatest satisfactions is seeing an idea move from my mind, through an artisan's hands, into a finished piece that people can experience. This sofa tells that story.

A Masterpiece with a Purpose

Even before the sofa was completed, my experience as a business owner and furniture manufacturer helped me anticipate its commercial challenges. Its generous proportions would not suit every living room, and its demanding craftsmanship would place it beyond the budget of some customers.

I understood those constraints and chose to proceed. I wanted to create a masterpiece that would demonstrate JOSECO's ability to customise: to take an ambitious idea, understand its complexity and bring it to life.

When the video was released, enquiries arrived from across India and overseas. People wanted to know how it was made, how comfortable it was, and whether we could create something equally distinctive for their homes.

The sofa fulfilled the purpose I had imagined for it: it made our manufacturing capability visible.

The Curves Were Born in the Carpenter's Hands

The defining feature of the Grande Signature is its sweeping curved rosewood profile. These curves were shaped by hand, without machine shaping. Their form emerged through the carpenter's skill, experience and understanding of the design.

Achieving this flowing silhouette requires close attention to proportion, symmetry, depth and the relationship between adjoining sections. Each adjustment must serve both the appearance and the structure of the piece.

Nearly 90 days of dedicated carpentry went into this single sofa. Its fine detailing reflects repeated observation, careful shaping and patient refinement.

This level of craftsmanship is exceptionally rare. It requires an artisan who can interpret a manufacturer's vision and express it convincingly in wood, with meticulous attention to the smallest visible details.

You can see the curve. What you cannot immediately see is the judgement behind every movement that created it.

Kerala Rosewood, Given an Extraordinary Form

Crafted from Kerala rosewood, known locally as Eety Maram, the Grande Signature celebrates the timber's rich character through substantial wooden sections, a generous foundation and an ambitious silhouette.

Although only part of the wood is visible beneath the upholstery, those exposed sections carry much of the design's identity. Creating sweeping curves from substantial solid timber involves careful material selection and considerable shaping. Significant offcuts add to the material cost of the finished piece.

The Commitment Behind Rare Craftsmanship

A project like this asks something substantial of the manufacturer. I must communicate the idea clearly, select the right artisan and remain committed throughout a lengthy process. When so much depends on specialised handwork, the carpenter's judgement becomes central to the result.

That dependence carries responsibility and risk. Time, timber and labour are committed well before the finished result can be evaluated. The labour cost reflects both the rarity of the skill and the sustained attention the design demands.

I accepted that challenge because I believed in the piece and in what it could reveal about JOSECO. The Grande Signature expresses our willingness to invest in demanding craftsmanship and see it through.

Grandeur Must Feel Comfortable

A striking sofa should also invite you to sit down. The Grande Signature combines its substantial wooden structure with generous seating and cushioned comfort. Customers can choose ultra-premium leatherette or a proven waterproof fabric option, according to their preferences.

My personal recommendation is pistachio-green ultra-premium leatherette. To my eye, its gentle green tone complements the deep richness of rosewood beautifully, giving the sofa a distinctive identity while allowing the timber and its curves to remain the centre of attention.

That recommendation comes from my own design judgement. The final choice should reflect your taste and the atmosphere you want to create in your home.

A Single-Seater with a Grand Presence

Although designed as a single-seater lounge, the showcase piece has an unusually spacious presence. Its stated dimensions are approximately 60 inches long, 36 inches wide and 22 inches high, with a measured weight of 80 kg.

Your Response Inspired the Next Chapter

After we shared the Grande Signature, enquiries arrived from across India and around the world.

Many admired its design but asked: "Can you make this to suit my living room?"

That response inspired us to develop versions with more conventional residential proportions alongside the grand showcase format. We also began work on a matching three-seater, two-seater and tea table.
